Re: Bizarre LogBox Problems |
Yes data logging will still work so you should be ok on the dyno.
No problems, i will check it out when i receive it back. |

Re: Bizarre LogBox Problems |
Hopefully that will mean the logging will still work when I'm on the dyno on Friday.
Had better hope I can get my old interface rebuilt and working well enough to do the flashing.
Have tried the LogBox on yet another laptop with the same result. WIll get it sent back to you after the dyno day to check out. |

Re: Bizarre LogBox Problems |
The Log Box uses a totally different chip and circuit to handle the micro SD card function, the flashing and engine data is handled by the FTDI USB-Serial chip and associated circuits. |

Re: Bizarre LogBox Problems |
I had the engine out of the bike. ONce it was back in I re-flashed the ECU and everything worked fine.
When I tried to start the bike I found I had the crank position sensor lead unplugged so the bike turned over and eventually threw up an FI light.
I tried to switch the box over to Read mode so I could use ECU Editor to see if there were any fault codes I could read but I couldn't see the device on my computer.
I tried reinstalling the drivers, restarting the device, checking the connections, etc. Tried a different laptop and different USB leads but nothing changes.
If something has gone wrong with the hardware why does the storage card still mount on my computer when in log mode? |

Re: Bizarre LogBox Problems |
Hi Mike
Sounds like you have a problem with the USB-Serial circuit of the Log Box. Do you see the USB Serial Port in Device Manager? And it sounds like you have re-installed the driver? This is the first problem i have had like this, can you think of anything that may have happened that may have caused the problem?
You are quite welcome to send the Log Box back to us for testing. If it is defective then we will send you out a new one. |

Bizarre LogBox Problems |
I had a strange issue today. I reflashed the ECU and then started the bike, which failed as I had forgotten to plug in the crank position sensor.
When I next tried to connect my laptop couldn't see the Logbox in either read or write mode. Bizarrely with the switch in the centre position it mounts the contents of the card with no problems.
No amount of restarting or reinstalling helps. I've even tried another computer with the same result.
Any idea what might have gone wrong and what I can do to fix it? |
