Re: Log start configuration - Is it me or the hardware? |
Same happening to me. It seems that half of the options in the software do not work. I tried to set higher rpm on mine twenty times at least. Keep checking/unchecking the boxes - still nothing.
We get upgrades twice a day but no one seem to be looking at fixing the OLD BUGS in it instead introducing the new ones
I think you are being a little unreasonable "half the options in the software do not work". We have not received any support tickets from you with the specifics of issues? If you have a specific issue log a support ticket with the specifics so we can look into the issue, and by specifics we need:
1) Part Number of the bin file you are working with
2) What interface you are using
3) What version of the software you are using
4) What firmware version you have on your interface
5) What harness you are using i.e. Bench or On Bike and the number of the harness
6) What the actual problem is and how to reproduce it.

Ok, you are right, I was a bit hot under the collar. I apologise for it.
The idle speed issue is very old. It worked really only once and it was very erratic as I could not change it at will. At the moment is set up at 1800 rpm but the bike idles at 1100-1200 rpm despite numerous flashes and with different versions of software going back about 2 months.
There is the info you asked for:
The bin file no is 32920-21H50_DJ0HSE01
Log Box Pro + Zeitronix ZT-3 Wideband O2 package
Latest firmware
System installed on a bike
To reproduce the problem Change the idle RPM speed in Advanced Settings, flash it back to ECU and then start the engine to check the results which are that the engine idles at just like before the whole procedure.
The Idle Speed setting needs to be "learned" by the ECU before taking effect, it is not immediate. There is an SDS command to reset the ISC valve but we have not had a chance to implement it, however over time the iSC should adjust to the newly set Idle RPM value. |

Re: Log start configuration - Is it me or the hardware? |
Just a side note, i checked the RPM log start setting for the latest firmware release for the Denso devices, it should be working correctly now, so the Log Box (Denso) and Log Box Pro (Denso) should not start logging until the RPM value is reached (and the other log start parameters are met). |

Re: Log start configuration - Is it me or the hardware? |
Thanks for your understanding, yes we (not just me) work ridiculous hours, but its all good, makes it all worthwhile when we get the results we do |

Re: Log start configuration - Is it me or the hardware? |
Awesome! Thanks Justin. With the change to Autotune ECT filter those other logging start options in Log box are not necessary.
Thanx again man. I'm sure the demands & expectations of all your customers must have you constantly under the pump & we all appreciate the work you put into it. |

Re: Log start configuration - Is it me or the hardware? |
Hey Justin,
I don't mean to be a pain, I know you're pretty busy with developing the racetools stuff at the moment, but there seems to be a couple of issues with regards the logging options of log box denso v2 (not sure whether the same issue exists for the other log boxes) & also the AT temp filtering with multiple files.
The only other way around this I can think of is to flick the kill switch off and on once the bike is up to temp. So each ride should have 2 logs (one during warmup & the other to use for AT). After downloading the logs to computer delete all the warmup logs.
This was not a bug, it was how it was originally coded. However i understand why you would like it to work this way and it has been changed to filter based on coolant temp at the beginning of each log file, this is available in the latest release of WRT. |

Log start configuration - Is it me or the hardware? |
I am a little frustrated at my inability to eliminate cool engine temps from my logs for tuning.
Ideally it would be nice if the Autotune would filter out data before the coolant temp threshold for all files instead of just the first one when multiple files are selected for Autotune otherwise it's pointless having that filter option. But until this issue is fixed I thought I would try to get around it by making the Log Box only start logging after a while of riding. Unfortunately the maximum time delay is 60 seconds. I reckon it would need at least 5 minutes to get up to a reasonable temp. So I thought I would try setting an RPM in the Log Start configuration that I could intentionally trigger when I want it to start logging. I set it to 7000RPM, but it still started logging straight away as soon as the engine is running. I have tried this with "engine running" both checked & unchecked & it still does the same.
Does anyone know how I can eliminate cold engine data for tuning? Am I missing something in how "Log Start Configuration" is supposed to work?
Any advice would be much appreciated. |
