Needs information about Logbox functioning.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hi, I think what tl1000s97 is saying is correct. The ECU's by default have 2 sets of maps usually with the same settings. Maybe this is to help during development? I have a VZR1800 and on the forums they talk about removing the exhausts and replacing with noisy ones, imagine that on a cruiser :D To remove the F1 error light Suzuki say to remove a wire from the ECU so I would guess this is the MS0 and MS1 select pin. I have a later model and the pin number is not used on my harness/ecu and so far not been able to find which pin it is. Geoff

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Great :) As far as I understand MS0 and MS1 is just two sets of maps, usually idenctical. For some markets, for example France and Norway one of the maps are altered (restricted) due to local legislation/insurance (106HP versions of GXSR, B-King, Busa). For some models it is MS0 that is the "default" map, for other MS1 and it is one pin in the ECU (grounded/not grounded) that governs this. As you wrote, you will have Mode A, B (and C) in each MS-map. So in total there will be 4 (or 6) maps. Hope this helps.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello tl1000s97. I bought Woolich Racing Log Box because I heard good things about it. I ask some basic questions to be sure to not make mistakes to avoid to "brick" my ECU. I ask some basic questions because I'm beginner, as everyone was. Justin told me one day, no problem with questions, it will be useful for others people. I agree that some questions were very basics, but now I did my first flash, it seems more clear. But it is not very easy to find information in a forum, especially when english is not your mother tongue. I apologize if my questions are tiresome, but I've got to learn. And about MS0/MS1 map, I've found a lot of topics who talk them, but none that answer to my question: What is MS0 map and MS1 map ? I found several topics about it but no one who explains what it is exactly. Is one of the map is a restricted map and the other map an unrestricted map ? On the dashboard I have two maps, mode A and mode B. Is that means that I have 4 maps in total, 2 maps on MS1 (A and B) and 2 maps on MS0 (also A and B)? About my post from Monday April 14 I found answers to my question except for MS0/MS1 map. And indeed, as you say, there is not many tuners who have knowledges on WRT. (not in France to my knowledge) Bye.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Nihco: With so many basic questions I think you are quite "brave" to install this device and do your own tuning. :) You will find answers to all your question if you search the forum and use som time. Also do some (re)search via Google to understand what AFR and (engine)tuning is. You do not "change" AFR. You alter (flash ECU) the fueling to achive desired AFR and use device as the Zeitronic/Logbox to obtain optimum AFR. If racing is your thing and your main reason to buy Woolichs great product you are better off consentrating on your riding skills and leave the tuning to an experienced tuner. Unfortuanetly not many tuners have the knowledge on WRT hardware/software, so there you are. :( Most know Powercommander and Bazzazz AFAIK. Dynojet/Powercommander and Motty have "live" Autotune device/functionality (don't remember about Bazzazz module). Your WRT Logbox is a *tool* to do "Autotune" and you will have to flash the ECU according to what the (WRT) software suggests. (All this is very good explained here in this forum and elsewhere in a few other forums).

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello, I have others questions, while waiting answers to previous questions. When you click on Configuration button, in the “Fuel map unify settings section”, you can tick: Unify fuel groups map. But I don’t know what group map is. Can you explain me please: What is neutral group ? (is that mean that is a fuel map only for neutral gear ? ) And what is gear 1-6 group ? ( is that mean that is fuel map for gear 1 to 6 but not for neutral ? ) Currently I have tick: Unify fuel cylinder map and Maintain cylinder offset. Do I have to tick “Unify Fuel Group Maps” and to select “Gear 1-6” ? I finally found where to set AFR values. This is on button Autotune and Target AFR. Questions: When I click Apply Auto Tune, do I have to do this for IAP map and for TPS map do I have to Apply Auto Tune again ? Or when I click on Apply Auto Tune this apply IAP and TPS maps for both simultaneously ? Can I put the same AFR value on all the cells ? Or this is not recommended ? Thank you to all the people who bring me their help.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello Justin. Thanks for your answer. I have other questions. I just finished to install the zeitronix wideband O2 controller and the logbox on my GSXR 600 2011. First: How can I adjust the AFR values ? In the Woolich software or in the zeitronix software ? I didn’t find it on the woolich software. Second: What is the procedure to follow for Autotune the bike ? What I understood is to put the switch in center position, then when the 3 configuration settings (log start delay, engine running and coolant temp) are reached the data logging will start. Am I right until here ? But, how many time I have to drive for record data ? Do you suggest an ideal time ? Then when I finished the session (data recording), in which position do I put the switch before plug USB cable for read data ? Then , I go in Woolich software, I click on Autotune button, then Auto Tuned Map, and I click on Apply Auto Tune. Is that apply both (IAP and TPS) maps simultenaously, or do I have to apply Autotune for each map ? Third: What is MS0 map and MS1 map ? I found several topics about it but no one who explains what it is exactly. Is one of the map is a restricted map and the other map an unrestricted map ? On the dashboard I have two maps, mode A and mode B. Is that means that I have 4 maps in total, 2 maps on MS1 (A and B) and 2 maps on MS0 (also A and B)? Excuse me for all this questions but I’m totally lost, and I have my first race the next week-end.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
The 12v relay is a switch that powers the ZT-3 directly from the battery. You hook the trigger part of the relay into a switched power supply e.g. tail light that is only powered when the key is turned on. The switched part of the relay powers the ZT-3 directly from the battery through the relay. This configuration ensures that the wideband is only powered when the bike key is on and that the power for the wideband is taken directly from the battery and not any of the ancillary circuits on the bike. Any standard 12v 30 amp automotive relay will work fine, you can generally pick them up at automotive electronics shops for $10-$20.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello Justin. I will start to install my Log Box on my bike. I bought a Zeitronix ZT-3 wideband O2 controller. I read the Zeitronix ZT-3 installation manual, and I saw that a 12V relay is used. I don't have this relay. I have question about this 12V relay. What is its function ? Is it possible to install the Zeitronix O2 controller without use this 12V relay ? What are the risk to don't use this relay ? Which kind of relay I have to use ? Do you have a reference for it ? (for know which kind of relay I have to buy) Thank you for answers. nihco from France.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
There is no easy answer, and it probably depends on the application, it is best to test the response to a given change to the maps to see if it gives you the results you are after. As an example we have drag racing customers who actually close the STP in 1st gear to dull the power down for better launches down the quarter mile.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
I still have a question about the gear restrictions. How do i knwo for example in the STP maps if a map is restricted or the STP's are just closed for better throttle response in the lower rpm/tps areas? Do you have a hint how to see the diffrence? Thanks, Alex

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
There is no straight forward answer to the question as it depends on the model. Fuel maps are not generally provided per gear. Restrictions are generally in either STP and Ignition maps. Yes to de-restrict a map, you find the full power map, select all the cells, copy them then go to the restricted map and paste the values by placing the cursor in the top left cell and paste. These basic function are covered off in our video tutorials http://www.woolichracing.com/SupportCenter.aspx?SupportCenterCategoryId=15#supportCenterItems

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello Justin. I just bought the products few minutes ago. :D I'am impatient to test them. :D For the restrictions, are they on all the gears from 1 to 6 ? Or only on the lower gear like 1, 2 and 3 ? And like preuss asked, is the restrictions are on the fuel map or on the igniton map ? ( I think in the igniton map ) So, I have to copy the value (all the cells) of the fuel or ignition map and to paste it into my ECU map, is that exact ? Thank you.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Yes i generally use stock soft limiter for road racing and road bikes.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
To disable restrictions, you just copy the unrestricted maps from the bin file into the restricted maps using the standard copy and paste functions in the map editor windows As the Fuel Maps are all the same for gear 1-6, i think the restriction is only in the igniton maps? There is 2 types of limiters, the stock is softcut, so it progressively cuts fuel then igniton at the RPM limit, hardcut is like hitting a brick wall with the limiter cutting both fuel and ignition, it is useful for boosted and nitrous applications where you want to have a hard limit. So for normale Road Race you would recommend the stock soft-cut limiter? No problems with the questions, if you are asking them i am sure other people would be interested in the answers as well ;) Yeah, I think so too! :-)

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hi Yes you will need the Suzuki Harness Type 6 for the 2012 GSX-R 600, this includes the main harness and the extension harness required for your bike, this is available with the log box package for your model on the products page http://www.woolichracing.com/Products.aspx?Manufacturer=Suzuki&Model=GSX-R%20600&Year=2012&#productTable The Suzuki Type 6 Extension harness is the part of the harness that stays on the bike, it is included with the Suzuki Harness Type 6, you can purchase the extension harness if you would like to tune additional bikes. You will need the Suzuki Type 5 Extension harness for the 2011 GSX-R 600, this will plug into the same main harness that comes with the Suzuki Type 6 Harness. You can only flash the EM Pro bin file onto EM Pro ECU's it will not work on stock ECU's To disable restrictions, you just copy the unrestricted maps from the bin file into the restricted maps using the standard copy and paste functions in the map editor windows Yes to disable the top speed limiter just untick the box There is 2 types of limiters, the stock is softcut, so it progressively cuts fuel then igniton at the RPM limit, hardcut is like hitting a brick wall with the limiter cutting both fuel and ignition, it is useful for boosted and nitrous applications where you want to have a hard limit. You can set up a basic 2 step limiter which functions like launch control, you basically set the neutral limiter to your launch RPM, this limiter is also in place when you have the clutch in, so when you are launching the bike will stay at the lower neutral limiter until the clutch is released then the normal limiter will be functioning. No problems with the questions, if you are asking them i am sure other people would be interested in the answers as well ;)

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello Justin. Thank you for answers. I answer you late, because I 'am reading all the topics and posts of the forum, for learn a maximum of things before ask questions. I would to buy for my GSXR 600 year 2012 the Log Box Package. But can you explain me what is the function of the "Suzuki Harness Type 6" at 45 dollars ? Do I have to buy it ? And what is the function of the " Suzuki Extension Harness (Type 6)" at 25 dollars ? Do also I have to buy it ? What are the differences for the "Suzuki Harness Type 6" and for the "Suzuki Extension Harness (Type 6)" ? I would to flash the bike of a friend (who also do competition on racetrack). He also have a GSXR 600 but year 2011. If I understand well the 2011 and the 2012 GSXR 600 doesn't have exactly the same harness. What are the differences ? Can you tell me which harness do I have to buy to flash my friend bike with my Log Box ? The " Suzuki Harness Type 5" or the " Suzuki Extension Harness Type 5" ? Question about the " 2011-2012 GSX-R 600 Yoshimura EM PRO Bin File". If I bought this file, I put it directly in the ECU ? Di I need the "Yoshimura Ignition Short Harness" to use this Yoshimura Bin file with my stock ECU and stock harness ? Question about the Woolich Racing Bin file definition. I searched in the Woolich software, and I don't found how to disable the restriction on the lower gear (for have the same results than using a G-Pack or Timing Retard Eliminator), is it possible to disable this and how ? For disable the top speed limiter ( maximum speed in 6th gear ) I have just to untick the checkbox ? But for the "Hardcut fuel limiter" checkbox, what is it function ? And can you tell me if the "launch control" feature is available in the Woolich Bin file ? (for the 2012 GSXR 600) To have the same function of this products from schnitz racing: http://store.schnitzracing.com/msd-launch-master/ Sorry for my novel, but this is not simple when you are rookie. I hope I don't "knock out" you, with my questions. Thank you again for your support.

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
I am glad you like my direct approach :)

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Now that was unequivocally an unambiguous response!

Re: Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hi Thanks for your inquiry. Yes it is possible to disable top speed limiter in 6th gear, this is done in the limiters section. Yes it is also possible to use the Woolich Racing Log Box on a French or European ECU, you can easily flash in a full power EU bin file into the French ECU. This will not impact your immobilizer. Yes it is as simple as ticking a box to disable the - Stock O2 sensor - PAIR valve - ISC - TOS - EXVA - Steering Damper

 Needs information about Logbox functioning.
Hello. I'm French and I drive a Suzuki GSXR 600 year 2012. I will use my bike for doing race in French championship in 2014. I am currently preparing my bike in race configuration. I discover the Woolichracing and ecueditor software few days ago. I'm very interested by Woolichracing interface for several reasons. First, for race use, I need to disable a lot of sensor / Fi light, who are: -pair valve -exhaust valve -steering Damper -ISC -O2 sensor and many others Second is I had planned to buy a Dynojet Power Commander 5 with autotune module. But since I discovered your software, and like it is possible to combine injection tuning AND disable "sensor / FI light" with Woolichracing software and interface, I am more interested by a Woolichracing logbox rather than a power commander. But I have questions because I don't have knowledge in this domain. Is it possible to disable top speed limiter on 6th gear ? Is it possible to disable speed limitation on 2nd and 3rd gear ? (to have the same function provided by the G-Pack over 3 from Nikko Racing or the X-TRE "Timing Retard Eliminator" from Healtech) I have no knowledge in ECU hacking and in fuel injection tuning. It is for this reason that I would to buy an used ECU, like that, if there is a problem (who kill the ECU) during the flashing, I still have my genuine ECU 100 percent stock. But the problem is that in Europe, we have "transponder / immobilizer" system on ECU (key and ECU are paired), so I can't use an used ECU on my bike. I have two questions about the immobilizer: -is it possible to use Woolichracing logbox for flash a French ECU ? -is it possible with the Woolichracing (or ecueditor) software to disable this "immobilizer"? (for I can use an used ECU) For disable the pair valve, exhaust valve, ISC and the speed limitation, is there a simple checkbox or just click a button to disable each of them? Or else there is necessary to have good technical knowledge in computer sciences? And last, is there the possibility to disable the steering damper sensor for the Suzuki GSXR 600 2012? Thank you very much for your answers, and to have fully read my text. I hope that my English is not too bad, and sorry if I made some mistakes.
