Re: F1 code C28 |
Ok, read the relevant section of the manual, but have opted to use ECU ed to re set the error code first, just to verify there is a real fault.
Fault code did not re appear during a static engine run for 15 min, so tomorrows test ride will be the decider....
Had some head scratching coming to grips with setting etc to get to the point of re setting fault codes, but got there in the end. Just hope this works because I'm not keen on the worst case scenario of needing a new serve, looks like that will mean replacing the throttle body assy, or the ECU/
BTW, are the B King an Busa units interchangeable?. seems to be a difference in price for some reason... |

Re: F1 code C28 |
Ok no problems, post up your results, i am interested to see what you find! |

Re: F1 code C28 |
Thanks Jason.....I don't think this is a result of fitting the Log Box, but it (and ECUed) certainly let me know about it. Definitely a case for WRT F1 code display...will try to find that reference in the manual as you suggested. Not convinced it is an actual problem beyond just an indication at this stage tho.... |

Re: F1 code C28 |
The first place i would start with a fault code would be to download the Workshop Manual and read up on the diagnostic process for the fault code, perform the tests and see if the Secondary Throttles are working in spec. The workshop manual should be available on the b-king forum site.
The problem may not be anything to do with flashing and i would be extremely surprised if it was anything to do with the log box as the log box simply connects and logs engine data. |

F1 code C28 |
After having done the recent windows and WRT updates, I had some difficulty in connecting to the log box which were sorted by re installing drivers and software tinkering.
But now, I have an F1 error on the B-King's dash, ( C28- Secondary throttle motor according to ECU editor).
Bike starts and seems to run well enough, so I'm left wondering what, and if, there is a problem. There was a prior instance of the F1 warning (code was not checked) that appeared when I first installed the Log Box, which "went away" after my first and only log and flash.
It may be relevant, that prior to, and a reason for, fitting the Log Box, the bike had a savage "flat spot" at about 6-7,000rpm that took a few second to clear, flashing seemed to fix that. Since most of my riding is done below this range I'm not sure how long it has been an issue, and have not had the opportunity to test at higher RPM yet.
So any ideas as to where to start looking, and for what sort of problem?
