 Re: Tips for Dyno-tuning
Hi, I have a gsxr k7 engine on a race car and starting to use auto tune. I wold like have some info of how to auto tune. Is there a tutorial about this ? i logged some data all ready but didn't manage to put data on orginal maps. I think I'm doing something wrong ?? Thanks Gordon

 Re: Tips for Dyno-tuning
A fix for this issue has been released, more details can be found here http://www.woolichracing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1560

 Re: Tips for Dyno-tuning
Strange that it was running in restricted mode initially. I am working on an issue at the moment which may be related to what you are experiencing. For the Gen 2 Hayabusa, there is a reliable flag that is logged with the engine data that indicates if the bike is running in MS0 or MS1. When AutoTune in WRT was developed, MS0/MS1 filtering was built into the AutoTune screen, so if data was logged in MS0 then it would only appear when MS0 is selected in the AutoTune screen, and if data was logged in MS1 it would only appear in the AutoTune screen if MS1 was selected. It appears as though the GSX-R 1000 does not make consistent use of the MS0/MS1 flag in the engine data packet. So when you log data with the GSX-R it is always logged as MS0, even if the bike is running in MS1 mode. There are 2 different fixes we are looking into 1) Investigating if there is a different flag in the GSX-R engine data packet which indicates MS0/MS1 2) Adding a setting in the AutoTune screen to show all the engine data logs allowing the Engine Data logs that have been logged in MS0 to be applied to MS1.

 Re: Tips for Dyno-tuning
Hello, I just got back from my first Dyno run with the WR logbox and here are my experiences. We started out with a real head scratcher! When we did the baseline run the Dyno showed a mere 125HP. This would be great for a 600 but obviously not for a K8 1000cc bike. Mike the tuner even called his Tovami support guy and ran some tests to make sure the bench was okay. Then we decided to flash a stock bin to the ECU and saw a change in Advanced settings MS0/MS1 switching. MS1 was set default instead of MS0 and the Dyno showed a healthy 180+hp. Stange thing though all the logfiles where MS0 in Autotuner. MS0 apparently is a map with some sort of limiter on it. Next we tried to change AFR in the TPS map in Autotune and here we got stuck. We changed some areas where the bike ran to lean and clicked apply auto tune. The first time the effect was noticeable but after that fist time no matter what we changed we did not see any result on the bench runs. It quickly became obvious that this software can be quite difficult to undertand and after an hour of trying stuff we went back to a pervious map and called it a day. What did we do wrong? Why can't we change the AFR? We loaded the logfile into autotune, then used the Target AFR screen made changes in ranges 10k to 14k then clicked the Auto Tuned Map (saved the TARF file) and clicked Apply Autotune. After that minimize the Autotune screen and set the switch to Flash, click write ECU in the main screen, wait 30 seconds till it finished set the switch back to logging and re run. The map is really not bad now but there is more to get out of it and we are eager to learn this software. Cheers!

 Re: Tips for Dyno-tuning
Thanks Justin, I'll post the results.

 Re: Tips for Dyno-tuning
The approach is a little bit different to what your tuner is used to in that it is more a log data, analyze in WRT AutoTune, flash changes, having said that i think he will be impressed with the results. So the basic flow for tuning is Connect Log Box with switch in centre data logging position Run bike up on dyno concentrating on the areas of the map you would like to tune, allowing time in each RPM, throttle range to log sufficient data Connect laptop to Log Box and open .wrl log files in AutoTune Review logged data and suggested changes in WRT AutoTune Apply AutoTuned map to Bin File and Save Bin File Flash changes to ECU Repeat above process until map values stabalize

 Tips for Dyno-tuning
Hello, in two weeks I'm taking my GSXR-K8 to the tuner for a Dyno run. I have installed the Logbox with zeitronix zt-3 O2 and removed my Powercommander. The tuner has no experience with WLR but has worked with Powercommander a lot and he's willing to try something new. Do you have any tips to give us a head start? Cheers!
