What I've seen, is that "disable" only disables the light.
Tested last year with the O2 sensor, on a 2016 ZX10R. Only tested with the O2 sensor, mind you.
ECU still targeted stoich at low RPM, until the sensor was unplugged. |

disable o2 fi code means no CE light, but if o2 sensor still plugged in, the ecu still reads and uses it? YES
disable exh servo means the servo (if still present) still works but if not present it won't throw a code or CE light?
disable pair, if I disable it - and it's still there, it will still work? YES
disable intake flap, if I disable it - and it's still there, it will still work? YES
disable purge valve, if I disable it - and it's still there, it will still work? YES
