What do I need to start flashing my ECU? |
Generally, you will require a Woolich Racing USB Interface or Log Box (what's the difference between the USB Interface and the Log Box?), a harness to connect the Interface or Log Box to your bike, a USB cable, and a Bin File Definition to expose the maps and settings for you bike in the Woolich Racing Tuned software. For simplicity, we have packaged up a kits for each make and model. These are listed on the Products Page.
Related products may also be required.

If I buy the kit for my bike, how can I find out what features are available for it? |
From the products page, click on the Bin File Definition within the relevant bike model to view a complete list of available features.
Each bike is different, and we’re adding additional features all the time. Please subscribe to our email updates to be notified when these features are added, or keep your eye on the Woolich Racing Tuned news thread in the forums.

What is the difference between Bench Harnesses and On Bike Harnesses? |
Bench Harness The bench harnesses are plugged directly into the main plug on the ECU. You need to unplug the main harness ECU plug and then plug in the Bench Harness to read/write to the ECU. The ECU is powered by a 12v power supply while using the Bench Harness. No modifications are required to the main bike harness when using the Bench Harness. Live engine data, data logging and Diagnostics is not available with the Bench Harness.
On Bike Harness: The On Bike Harnesses are installed permanently onto the bike. They allow you to easily Read/Write to the ECU and Read and Clear Diagnostics (On Applicable Models). On Bike Harnesses generally allow you to connect to Engine Data allowing you to view real time engine data on the computer screen. On Bike Harnesses are the best option when tuning on the Dyno or logging data for Autotuning. Was this helpful? YesNo open in new page |
What is the difference between the USB Interface and the Log Box? |
The Woolich Racing USB Interface allows you to view real-time engine data, read and write to the ECU, among other things.
The Woolich Racing Log Box is capable of everything the USB Interface is capable of, along with the ability to log real-time engine data to the on-board
micro SD card. This data can be downloaded and used to assist tuning the bike with the Woolich Racing AutoTune.
Note: Engine Data is not available for all models. Was this helpful? YesNo open in new page |
Why do I need to buy a Bin File Definition? I already own the Bin File in my ECU. |
You are not actually purchasing the Bin File, you are purchasing the Bin File Definition. The Bin File Definition is used within the Woolich Racing Tuned software, and it provides access for maps and settings allowing you to easily edit the Bin File within the Woolich Racing Tuned software. Without the Bin File Definition, you are not able to edit the bin file or make any changes to the ECU in your bike..

What 12 volt power supply do I need to power my bench harness? |
If you have purchased a bench harness package, you will require a 12 volt power supply. You can purchase these at regular electronic shops and they are
generally very cheap. We do not ship these with our products as they are difficult to move around the globe thanks to customs regulations. Further, it
might prove difficult for us to supply due to the different plugs used internationally.
The 12 volt power supply unit should have the following specifications:
Output Voltage: 12v
Amperage: 1 Amp – 1.5 Amps
To avoid damaging your ECU or Interface, please check the voltage output from the power supply with a multimeter. Some power supplies rated at 12 volt
actually put out over 18 volt and are not safe to use.
*PLEASE DO NOT USE A 12 VOLT BATTERY CHARGER AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE INTERFACE*
Here’s an example of what a 12 volt power supply might look like:
